What is blockchain?  How does blockchain apply to real estate?


Morvareed Z. Salehpour, attorney and Managing Partner of Salehpour Legal Consulting, whose practices include blockchain and real estate law among others, will moderate a discussion with Matthew Sullivan, founder and CEO of Quantm RE, and Lauren Biedenharn, real estate agent and co-founder and CMO of LA Blockchain Lab, on what is blockchain and its applications to real estate from updating the real estate transactional process to tokenization of real estate assets.

Speaker Biographies:

Morvareed Z. Salehpour is Managing Partner of Salehpour Legal Consulting, a law firm specializing in handling a diverse range of complex legal matters both in and outside the courtroom. She is experienced in negotiating a variety of contracts and legal agreements and handling cases from inception to trial and appeal. She has represented clients across the nation ranging from entrepreneurs and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies and works in a variety of industries, including real estate, blockchain, entertainment, technology, media, banking, manufacturing, fashion, retail, cannabis, food and beverage, and healthcare, among others. Ms. Salehpour is a graduate of UCLA and UCLA School of Law, where she also served as a Managing Editor for the UCLA Law Review. Ms. Salehpour previously practiced at BakerHostetler, a national firm where her work included being a member of the legal team seeking to recover the principal lost in the Madoff Ponzi scheme, and then at Strange & Butler, a complex litigation boutique. Ms. Salehpour is also a Trustee of the Santa Monica Bar Association, Board Member of the Rabbit Hole Network Blockchain Community, and a regular speaker and writer on blockchain and business law issues.

Matthew Sullivan is the founder and chief executive officer of the QuantmRE platform. He is also the co-founder of the Secured Real Estate Income Strategies Fund, and president and founder of, a real estate crowdfunding company. A serial entrepreneur, author and host of the Hooked On Startups podcast, he worked with Richard Branson’s Corporate Finance Team in the Virgin Group. Matthew went to Westminster School in London, UK and studied Law at Birmingham University before pursuing a career in finance and stockbroking, specializing in the South East Asian markets. Since then he has founded and led companies in the United Kingdom, India, Australia and the United States in the finance, telecommunications, technology and real estate sectors.

Lauren Biedenharn has been involved in the Real Estate industry for 5 years as an active agent looking to update the traditional process of the real estate transaction. She is passionate about spreading knowledge and awareness that our current system needs to be updated to a digital, secure, transparent, and convenient process utilizing blockchain technology. Lauren has worked with several blockchain companies to develop a more efficient real estate transaction protocol. She believes together we can create tools with blockchain technology to achieve rapid adoption through typical every day use.
